“Be seen. Get Treat.” campaign launches with a flurry of press activity

Updated: Feb 21, 2022

We’re delighted to announce several huge PR wins for our clients (and clients of our clients!)

Devon Tourism announces finalists in Tourism Awards

Treat helped to create an entire package from the award entry through to press releases and digital media and marketing support for the follow-on events and announcements.

Award entry

Our clients, Fruition Design commissioned Treat to copywrite a “Pub of the Year” award entry for their client, The Thatched Tavern in Maidencombe. We learned the requirements of the awards from Devon Tourism, Southwest Tourism and Visit England, and worked alongside our clients conducting probing interviews with in-depth questions to tell a rich, compelling story, worthy of an award. Their journey is so incredible, it simply took time and attention to detail to bring the finer points to light through relevant, impactful storytelling. We're so pleased to announce that The Thatched Tavern has been chosen as a finalist for Pub of the Year.

Press releases

As part of the finalist award announcement, we prepared a picture story and digital press pack for local media outlets, which was picked up immediately by Devon Live, and we worked with them on an exclusive package of social media broadcasts and an article for their website.

Social media broadcast

A reporter from Devon Live met with Treat and Fruition Design at The Thatched Tavern and carried out a 19-minute Facebook Live tour of the entire pub and garden, including the restaurant, kitchen and a short interview with their award-winning chef, Liam. The broadcast included a detailed description of the pub refurbishment with designer Mark Green of Fruition, and pub owner, Stephen Naylor.

Exclusive press article

To further expand on the picture story, Devon Live forwarded six key questions, upon which Treat based an interview with Stephen and prepared a fully copywritten article for Devon Live, approved by the client, and was published in its entirety.
